While the new 2021 Dodge Durango is well-equipped on every trim, the GT model is where things begin to get more interesting. With several packages to choose from, you can opt for many new features with this version.
First is Premium Group I. This adds a sunroof into the mix for ventilation and enjoying nature on long trips. To help you get to where you are going, navigation has been installed along with a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen interface. You can plot a course and plan pitstops along the way. Finally, the 9-speaker stereo with a subwoofer provides the best sound quality for your adventure.
The other option is Premium Group II. This has more to due with the exterior. It includes LED accent lighting and automatic high beams for optimized visibility. Rain-sensing wipers are also provided. While the standard 2021 Dodge Durango can manage to pull up to 2,812 kg (6,200 lbs), you can ramp this limited capacity up by opting for the Trailer Tow Group IV on most trim levels.
Adding a Class IV hitch receiver to the back of the vehicle, this modified version can haul up to 3,946 kg (8,700 lbs). That is outstanding for a mid-size SUV. To prevent the engine from overheating, a heavy-duty oil cooler has also been installed. Meanwhile, the integrated trailer brake controller allows you to make adjustments from the comfort of the cabin.
To accommodate for the added weight of the attachment, a load-leveling rear suspension system with low-range gearing is also included. Please keep in mind that this is only for AWD versions. Finally, a full-size spare tire can be found in the back just in case you get a flat.
