Mitsubishi Canada Rewards Teen With Special Incentive on Best-Selling PHEV
It was a very special day for a Kelowna teen - whose giving nature was rewarded by one of Canada’s premier auto manufacturers.
Last Christmas B.C. teen Cassie Marshall embraced the spirit of the season, donating her beloved 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander to Mamas for Mamas (a Kelowna-based organization that offers financial assistance to caregivers, helping to combat poverty across Canada). Marshall was moved by the charity’s good works - and, when she heard the story of a single mother of three who was without a vehicle to support her family, she knew what she had to do.
“It was my way to help. They certainly needed it far more than me. I can get rides from others or take the bus to school. I imagined what it must be like for a single mom with three babies and no way to get around in the cold. I was taught that helping others should always come first.”
Such generosity proves inspiring to all - including Mitsubishi Canada. This is why the automotive manufacturer recently rewarded Marshall for her good deed, offering a special incentive on the world’s best-selling PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle): the 2020 Outlander.
“We felt it would be nice to reward those of this upcoming generation who are very giving, and this vehicle is a perfect representation of their values - being both environmentally and socially responsible.”
Boasting the latest in plug-in technology, the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is a midsize SUV that requires no compromises - delivering both exceptional economy and dynamic handling. Anchoring the platform is the signature 2.0L DOHC MIVEC four-cylinder engine. When paired with an exclusive twin-motor, this assures class-leading capability: earning 3.2Le/100km of combined energy consumption. To further bolster efficiency, this model boasts three available drive-modes (EV, Series Hybrid, and Parallel Hybrid). This enables operators to more effectively monitor resource distribution, switching seamlessly between power systems and assuring precise control. Fuel usage is reduced, and a green philosophy is embraced.
Mitsubishi Canada knows, however, that students like Cassie need more than economy. They also must battle the B.C. elements when trying to get to class - and the 2020 Outlander PHEV delivers the necessary performance to conquer every kilometre. This SUV boasts a Super All-Wheel Control system, combining both active yaw tech (which provides optimal torque) and a twin-motor 4WD. This affords nimble handling on any terrain, with traction ratios distributed as needed between the tires and braking force meticulously regulated. Transitioning from the blacktop to the backroads proves easy.
Further improving Cassie’s travels are the Outlander’s ample features - which include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, advanced safety tech (such as rear cross-traffic alerts and forward collision mitigation), and a 1,500-pound towing capacity. This 2020 PHEV platform offers the everyday support a student needs… as well as the best warranty on the market.
In our opinion, the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is the ultimate SUV in Canada, and we think one special teen would agree.
